Slow

Things are going slowly for me with my latest project. Just working on GC right now and then I can get PS2 in there on the right side of the picture. Came up with a cool idea for GC's miniskirt, since she loves them so much. I wanted to have something interesting with the miniskirt so the above picture is what I've come up with.

Basically the cloth is a stretchy fabric so that she can still have freedom of movement for things like skateboarding and running around. The four corners have "L" shaped blocks made of heavy plastic so the miniskirt can sway around when she is moving about. Better yet it's machine washable. Hooray for future times!

Oh since GC likes to wear mostly black I was wondering what kind of Nintendo iconic dealie I could give her that would match well. A cute little Boo backpack for her seemed like the best idea. I should modify it so it looks like you can move the hands on the Boo so it can hide it's eyes if you are looking at it.

Adobe Photo Illustrator

Am I lame for using Illustrator? Do people think I could apply my creativity even better with something like Photoshop? Should I use Photoshop instead? Raster or vector? Sometimes I just wonder what to do with myself.

Yeesh.

Bitstream Dream

Very awesome indeed, I just bought the 4 album download of: Spiralglide, Integration, Connected, and Back Catalog from Bitstream Dream [link] I loooove their music. Whenever I'm working in Illustrator I'm almost always listening to some Bitstream Dream goodness, especially if whatever I am working up has to do with ladies. I had been contemplating buying the CD's from their site for awhile but instead I went with MP3's. Cheaper and I got em' now instead of later!

I'm always trying to surround myself with inspirational works whether visual or aural and this is another great addition for me!

Use me!

Alright. So I guess I'll start using this journal for something. Might as well talk about the projects I'm working on and all of the interesting tid bits. Nothing on my personal life for this journal - I'll save that for LJ. If I ever get back to that some day.

Right now I'm working on this Monopoly board game drawing with the three console-tan ladies I made last year [link] . I like the idea of them quite a bit so I think I'll be doing more of them in the future. What I don't like is how lazy I was when I made them. Playstation turned out pretty nice and a lot of people liked her but as I went onto Gamecube and then afterwards to XBox they just got worse. Oh boy did XBox suffer. By the time I got around to doing her I was pretty much running with the, "Argh! I just want to be done with this!" attitude. I didn't mind though, since all I really wanted out of that project was to have a wallpaper for my background on my computer. Somewhat recently I made another drawing of Playstation [link] in a more lively pose. I wanted to change her looks a little bit because I think she still could've used improvement so I went around and changed a few things here and there.

I think it was that picture that put me back on track to doing more of those trio. I had to change their faces though. XBox's was this oblong hideous thing that I couldn't stand to look at so when I recreated her I decided to go with this look: [link] A much fuller face and trashing those horrid excuse of eyes of yesteryear. I loved her hairstyle so I kept that.

The idea for this Monopoly drawing is somewhat iconic. Is that the word for it? Anyways, I wanted to do something more normal for this picture and maybe the next few ones. Something out of their battle suits. These three companies, Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft have all had monopolies or currently still do so Monopoly was definitely the board game of choice. The clothes that all three ladies will be wearing are going to be pretty casual but not modern. I'm trying to keep with a slightly futuristic theme for their apparel. XBox's shirt has a kind of circuitry theme going on for it. Her pants are plain for now because I don't really have any good ideas right now. I just knew she'd be wearing a shirt and jeans since I've made her personality the tomboy of the three.

When it's all said and done, it should be the three relaxing, playing a game of Monopoly on a bed. Maybe I'll add in some witty dialogue:

Playstation: (to XBox) No fair, you've already passed go!
Gamecube: This game is so boring!

In a sense, Microsoft has already passed go and collected their $200 with their XBox 360. Just waiting on PS3 and Revolution to debut.
